About Millbrook C of E Primary School

Built in 1916 and set in the village of Millbrook (which dates back to medieval times), Millbrook Church of England Primary School sits above the 19th-century All Saints Church and is surrounded by beautiful Cornish countryside. We draw inspiration from an ancient Celtic spirituality that finds God in the rhythms of nature, stillness and deep community roots. As a small, close-knit school, we operate as a true family unit. No child is a number here; every child is intimately known, and they look out for one another with genuine kindness and care.

We aim to inspire more than just academic success; our unique location, enveloped by working farms, rolling fields, Millbrook lake and the bays beyond, makes us an ideal hub for outdoor learning, where stewardship and creation care are lived out daily rather than just taught. We are fortunate to have our own mini forest on site where our children can become fully immersed in nature.

We believe in “irresistible” learning that stays with a child forever, delivered through three distinct pillars:

  • Accessing our wider Trust offer through our Outdoor Adventure Experiences, from rock climbing and mountain biking to canoeing on the river, testing our courage in the great outdoors.
  • Actively leading and participating in the vibrant rhythms of village life – from traditional Harvest festivals, church fetes and community celebrations – ensuring our children are the heartbeat of their local culture.
  • A progressive residential programme from Year 2 to Year 6, safely stepping out of our rural haven to experience everything from the woods of Beer to the bustling, diverse streets of London and Cardiff.

By working in collaboration with all the other schools in the Trust our children have all the opportunities they would if they went to a large school but with the benefits that a small family school has to offer. St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust comprises of fourteen schools that work together in three geographical hubs across Cornwall.

School leaders, teachers and support staff work collaboratively in teams within their hubs and across the Trust to ‘Bring It! by supporting one another to;
