Welcome to St Mellion C of E Primary School

At St Mellion Church of England Primary School, we aim to provide our children with an environment in which they feel safe, can forge life-long friendships and are suitably supported to achieve their full potential holistically. We wholeheartedly believe that our school’s vision and ethos helps to lay the foundations for all to develop physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally. As a result of our strong Christian distinctiveness we have seen some of our children want to become agents of change and support local and nationwide causes for the greater good of humanity.

As part of St Barnabas Multi-Academy Trust, we encourage our children to ‘Bring It!’. When we discuss Bringing It within school we talk about what we can learn from The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30) and how we can bring our talents to school so that we can be the best versions of ourselves to enable us to flourish. Additionally, we have three core Christian values that are threaded through daily school life and help to remind us God loves us all. Our Christian values of courage, creativity and friendship help all of us (children and adults) to live out our vision through learning and relationships in school.

On a school level, we believe that learning can be made memorable, exciting and fun through providing as many outdoor learning  opportunities as possible to support the delivery of our ambitious curriculum universally for all learners.

As a Church of England School, we support its vision for education which is deeply Christian, with Jesus’ promise of ‘life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10) at its heart.

Safeguarding pupils is our first priority. All our employees and volunteers are vetted and trained to ensure our children are kept safe. Adults and pupils are vigilant and know how to report and record any concerns they may have to senior leaders responsible for safeguarding.

If you are; a parent looking for a school for your child, a teacher looking for a class to teach or a school seeking partnerships with others, we would love to hear from you. Here are our contact details.

Our ‘Bring It!’ vision requires us to ensure our pupils are excited by and fully engaged in their learning and school experience more widely. Inspired by The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30) we support pupils to use their talents to create positive school memories with their friends that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
